Privacy Policy — Wordspot

Last updated: September 5, 2026

Wordspot is an Android app (com.hfc.wordspot) published on Google Play by PIXELMORE (Hugo Ferreira). It is a word bingo played in a group, in real time: one person prepares a grid of words, invites friends with a code, and everyone spots the words as the game goes on. For everyone to see the same game at the same moment, the app needs an account and a server. This page describes exactly what is stored, where, and why.

The service used: Firebase

Accounts and game data are hosted by Firebase, a service of Google LLC. Wordspot uses only two of its components: Firebase Authentication (accounts) and Cloud Firestore (game data). Data is stored in the eur3 (Europe) region. Google's processing is governed by the Firebase privacy policy.

No other SDK is bundled: no advertising, no audience-measurement tool (Firebase Analytics is disabled), no automatic crash reporting.

Your account

There are two ways into the app:

What you create while playing

Everything that makes a game run is stored in Firestore:

This content is visible only to the members of the group concerned. Groups are private: you can only enter one with its invitation code, and there is no public directory and no search for groups or players.

Why this data

A single purpose: making the game work in real time between the members of a group. This data is used for nothing else — no profiling, no advertising, no usage statistics.

What the app does not do

Permissions requested

PermissionWhy
Internet (INTERNET)Communicate with Firebase: sign in, join a group, follow the game live. It is the only permission requested.

Security

Exchanges between the app and Firebase are encrypted in transit (TLS). Firestore security rules restrict access to each group to its members: a user can only read or modify the groups they belong to.

Retention and deletion

Your data is kept for as long as your account and your groups exist. To delete your account and all associated data, write to hugoferreirapro803@gmail.com — from the address of your Google account, or stating your nickname and your group code if it is a guest account. Requests are handled within 30 days. A guest account also disappears with the device that created it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase and port the data concerning you, and to object to its processing. To exercise these rights, write to hugoferreirapro803@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL) if you believe your rights are not being respected.

Children

The app is intended for people aged 13 and over and does not knowingly collect any data about children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, write to us: it will be deleted.

Changes

Any change to this policy will be published on this page, with a new update date.
