Introduction

This privacy policy describes how MiniGeste ("the App") handles your information. MiniGeste is a personal budget management application designed to work entirely offline on your device.

Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal data. The App does not collect, transmit, or share any information whatsoever. All data you enter into the App stays exclusively on your device.

Specifically, the App does not:

• Collect personal information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
• Collect usage or analytics data
• Track your location
• Access your contacts, photos, or other device data on its own — the only file or photo it ever reads is one you choose yourself for the optional document reading (see “Optional Feature: Reading a Document” below)
• Use cookies or similar tracking technologies
• Contain any advertising or advertising identifiers
• Make any network requests, apart from the optional purchase of an icon theme through Google Play (see “Optional Purchases (Icon Themes)” below)

Data Storage

All your budget data (income, expenses, envelopes, settings) is stored locally on your device using local storage (Hive database). This data never leaves your device.

If you uninstall the App, all locally stored data will be permanently deleted.

Third-Party Services

The App does not use any third-party services, including but not limited to:

• Analytics services (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
• Advertising networks
• Crash reporting tools
• Cloud storage or backup services
• Social media integrations

The only outside service involved is Google Play itself, and only if you choose to buy an icon theme (see “Optional Purchases (Icon Themes)” below).

Internet Permission

The App does not require an internet connection and functions entirely offline. Apart from the optional purchase of an icon theme, which is handled by Google Play on your device, no data is transmitted over the network.

Optional Features (Home Screen Widget, Reminder, App Lock)

Since version 1.1.0, MiniGeste offers a few optional features. Each one runs entirely on your device and does not change anything described above: nothing is collected, transmitted, or shared.

• Home screen widget: if you add the widget to your home screen, MiniGeste copies the amounts already shown in the app into storage private to the app, read only by the widget on your own phone. Nothing is sent anywhere.
• End-of-month reminder: an optional local notification, scheduled directly on your device using the operating system's own notification permission. No notification service or push provider is involved.
• App lock (PIN or biometrics): if you enable it, your PIN code is never stored as such — only a salted cryptographic fingerprint stays on your device. Biometric verification (fingerprint or face) is handled entirely by your device's operating system; MiniGeste never receives, stores, or has access to any biometric data.

Optional Feature: Reading a Document

To save you from typing an expense, MiniGeste can read the text of a receipt, invoice or statement, only when you ask for it, by taking a photo or choosing a PDF or an image file.

• Everything happens on your device: the text is recognized by a text-recognition component bundled inside the App (no cloud service). The file or photo is never uploaded, shared, or sent to the developer.
• You choose the file: the App uses the system file picker or the system camera screen; it has no standing access to your photos or files, and it does not request the camera permission.
• The recognized lines are only suggestions that you review before they become expenses in your envelopes. Only the amounts, dates and labels you confirm are saved, as ordinary expenses; the document itself is not stored in the App's data.
• This feature is not available in every language of the App (it is turned off for the languages written in a non-Latin script).

Optional Purchases (Icon Themes)

Some icon themes for your envelopes are offered as a one-time, optional purchase through Google Play (two themes are free). Nothing else in the App is paid.

• Payment is handled entirely by Google Play, under Google's terms. Your card or other payment details are entered in Google Play: MiniGeste has no access to any payment information.
• No account and no server: to unlock a theme, the App receives from Google Play, on your phone, the confirmation that you own it. The list of themes you own is kept only in the App's private storage on your device and is never sent to the developer.
• “Restore my purchases” simply asks Google Play again which themes are linked to your Google account, for example after a reinstallation or on a new phone.
• As with any sale on Google Play, Google reports the sales to the developer in the Play Console (for example the order number, the product, the date, the price and the country). This information comes from Google Play, not from the App.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the App collects no data from any user, there is no risk of inadvertent collection of children's data.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
