Code Duo — Privacy Policy

No data collection

Code Duo does not collect any personal data. The app is a two-player deduction game (Mastermind-style) that requires no account and never identifies the user. Your settings (light/dark theme, game options, color-blind mode) and your game statistics (games played, wins, attempts) are stored exclusively on your device, through the app's local SharedPreferences storage.

No personal data sent to our servers

The app does not transmit any personal data to our servers or to third parties. No account, no cloud, no synchronization of your information. A game's secret combination is passed from one phone to another only through a locally scanned QR code, directly between the two devices, without going through any server or network. The app works 100% offline.

Camera: only to scan a QR code locally

The app requests access to the camera for a single purpose: to let the second player scan the QR code shown on the first player's screen, in order to retrieve the game's secret combination. This usage is entirely local and instantaneous.

• No image is stored: the camera stream is only used to read the QR code, then it is immediately discarded.
• No photo or video is sent anywhere, neither to our servers nor to third parties.
• The camera is only active on the scan screen, when you choose to scan a code.

No account required

You do not need to create an account to use Code Duo. We do not ask for an email, name, phone number, or any other identifying information.

No advertising, no tracking

The app contains no advertising, no advertising tracking SDKs, no advertising identifier (Advertising ID), no analytics (Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.), and no user behavior measurement tools.

Local data storage

Your settings and statistics are stored locally on your device by the app (built with Flutter, local SharedPreferences storage, for Android). This data never leaves your phone.

Deleting your data

You stay in full control of your data. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all the data it has stored on your device.

Children and privacy (COPPA)

Code Duo is designed for all ages, including young children under 13. In accordance with the U.S. COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and the GDPR, we place particular importance on protecting children's privacy:

• The app does not collect any personal data from any user, and therefore no personal data from children.
• It requests no identifying information (name, email, age, location, etc.).
• It contains no advertising, and therefore no targeted advertising directed at children.
• It includes no tracking or behavior measurement tools.
• The camera is used only to scan a QR code locally, and no image is kept or transmitted.
