Carte Sonore does not collect any personal data. The app is a sound journal: it lets you record sounds, organize them into folders, merge them, and generate transcriptions, titles and notes with built-in AI. Your audio recordings (.m4a files), transcriptions, titles, notes, folders and settings are stored exclusively on your device, in the app's local storage (Hive database and app documents).
The app does not transmit any personal data to our servers or to third parties. No account, no cloud, no synchronization of your information. All AI processing (transcribing your recordings, generating titles and notes) runs directly on your device. Your sounds, transcriptions and text never leave your phone — unless you explicitly choose to export them (see below).
To enable transcription and the generation of titles and notes, the app can download AI models (Whisper for transcription, Qwen for titles and notes) from the Hugging Face platform. This download only happens when you explicitly request it in the Settings.
The app requests the microphone permission (RECORD_AUDIO) for a single purpose: recording the sounds you choose to capture.
The Internet permission is used exclusively for the AI model downloads described above. It is used for nothing else: no telemetry, no advertising, no synchronization. Everything else in the app works 100% offline.
The app requests no location access (no GPS). The "place" you can attach to a recording is a simple optional text label that you type yourself.
You can export your recordings as a ZIP archive through your phone's system share sheet. Your data only leaves your device when you trigger this export yourself, and only to the app you choose.
You do not need to create an account to use Carte Sonore. We do not ask for an email, name, phone number, or any other identifying information.
The app contains no advertising, no advertising tracking SDKs, no advertising identifier (Advertising ID), no analytics (Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.), and no user behavior measurement tools. Carte Sonore is sold as a one-time purchase: no subscription, no in-app purchases.
Your recordings, transcriptions, titles, notes, folders and settings are stored locally on your device by the app (built with Flutter, local Hive database, .m4a audio files in the app's documents). This data never leaves your phone.
You stay in full control of your data. You can delete any recording from within the app, and uninstalling the app permanently deletes all the data it has stored on your device (including any downloaded AI models).
This policy may be updated if the app undergoes major changes. The last update date is shown at the top of this page.
