Anagramme chrono is a word game with two modes, and how your data is handled depends entirely on which one you play. The campaign is offline: nothing leaves your device, no account exists. The online duel publishes a round you have just played so that another player can take it on: this requires an anonymous account and sends a small set of game data, described in detail below. There is no advertising, no tracker and no in-app purchase, and nothing is sold or shared with advertisers.
The online mode is an addition, never a toll gate: the app remains fully playable offline and without an account.
Most of your data never leaves the phone. It is stored in the app's private storage (shared_preferences, on Android):
The French dictionary (85,535 words) is bundled inside the app: playing the campaign requires no connection at all.
Opening the online duel screen creates an anonymous account through Firebase Authentication (Google). "Anonymous" in the technical sense: it does not sign you in to any existing account. The app asks for no name, no email address, no password and no phone number, and does not connect to your Google account. This account is a random identifier, specific to your installation, used only to know which round is yours and to avoid pitting you against yourself.
The connection is lazy: it happens only when you open that screen. As long as you do not open it, no account is created.
When you publish a round, or when you answer another player's round, the app sends exactly this:
Nothing else. No contact details, no location, no device identifier, no freely written content: the words transmitted are French dictionary words you formed from the letters of the draw. A round you abandon is never published.
Your nickname is visible to players who take on your round. It is a free field: we recommend not putting your real name or any identifying information in it.
Shared rounds are stored in Cloud Firestore (Google), in the
anagramme-chrono project, in region eur3 — Europe. That
choice is deliberate and irreversible: the data stays in Europe. Google
acts here as a hosting provider on our behalf. Traffic is encrypted in transit
(HTTPS/TLS).
Let us be precise, because this matters: a published round is final. The database security rules forbid any modification and any deletion from the app. You therefore cannot delete a round you have published from within the game. This is a design decision — a duel cannot be rewritten after the fact — but it has to be stated plainly.
Rounds are kept without a predefined duration, so that they remain available to the players who will take them on. To have your published rounds and the anonymous identifier attached to them deleted, write to the contact address below: deletion is carried out manually, within thirty days. Local data, on the other hand, can be erased at any time from the app's Android settings, or by uninstalling it.
Anagramme chrono shows no advertising. The app contains no advertising SDK, no analytics or measurement tool (no Google Analytics, no Firebase Analytics, nor any equivalent), no crash reporter, and never reads the Android advertising identifier (Advertising ID). No data is sold, rented, or passed on to advertisers or data brokers.
The app offers nothing for sale. Hints (reveal a letter, freeze the timer) are earned by playing, not bought. No payment method is ever requested, and the app has access to no payment data whatsoever.
INTERNET) — publishing and receiving online
duel rounds.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) — knowing whether
a connection is available, so the app can honestly say "offline" instead of waiting for
nothing.READ_GSERVICES) — required by the
Google libraries used to reach the database. No other permission is requested: no camera, no microphone, no location, no contacts, no storage, no notifications.
Under the GDPR, you may request access to the information concerning you, its rectification or its deletion, or object to its processing. The processing tied to online duels rests on performing the service you ask for: it starts only once you open that mode and publish a round. One address covers all such requests, given below. Since the identifier is anonymous, please state in your message the nickname you used and the approximate date of the rounds concerned — otherwise we cannot find them.
Anagramme chrono is not directed to children under 13: the audience declared on Google Play starts at 13. The content itself is rated for everyone — it is a word game with no violence, no bad language and no sensitive themes — but its pace, its vocabulary and its weekly competition are aimed at older players.
We do not knowingly collect data from a child under 13. If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe a child has sent us data, write to the contact address below: we will delete it, within thirty days. Please state the nickname used and the approximate date of the rounds concerned — as the identifier is anonymous, that is the only way to find them.
What follows holds for every player, whatever their age, and answers the questions a parent asks: no advertising, no trackers, no in-app purchases; no free exchange between players — no messaging, no chat, no comments, no public profile, no photos, no way to contact anyone; and the name your opponent sees is filtered, as described above. Finally, the campaign, the quick duel and the daily challenge run with no network and no account: as long as the “Online duel” screen is never opened, no account is created and nothing is transmitted.
Any change to this policy is published at this address, with a new update date. This version 1.4 supersedes version 1.3 of the same day: the audience declared on Google Play goes back to 13 and over, the “Children” section is rewritten accordingly, and the game is no longer presented as falling under the Google Play Families policy. Version 1.3 made clear that the name seen by your opponent may come from the Google Play Games account, not only from the nickname typed in the app. Version 1.2 superseded version 1.1 of 11 August 2026: it expanded the “Children” section after an audience of 9 and over was declared on Google Play. No data processing has changed — only the description became more precise. Version 1.1 itself superseded version 1.0 of 9 August 2026, which described an entirely offline app, a description that stopped being accurate when the online duel was added.
